CTS-500 CHRISTIAN COUNSELING PHILOSOPHY (3 Credits)
This course aids the student in developing an integrated and comprehensive philosophy of counseling as discipleship informed by a Christian Worldview. Personal beliefs that impact the delivery of counseling services are identified and critiqued. Discussions will include the roles of the counselor and client. Students will develop an understanding of how to implement ethical standards and assess legal considerations when counseling in a church or pastoral setting.

CTS-502 PROGRAM INTRODUCTION (3 Credits)
This course serves as an introduction to graduate theological education at Cornerstone Theological Seminary. It prepares students for the rigors of graduate scholarship by honing the skills of graduate research, reading, writing, and citations

CTS-521 FOUND OF MARRIAGE & FAMILY COUNSELING (3 Credits)
A study of contemporary marital and family living issues considering a theological understanding of family relationships and responsibilities. Family lifespan issues and parent education issues include singleness, courtship, child-rearing practices and effects through developmental stages and factors known to affect family health.

CTS-610 COUNSELING TECHNIQUES (3 Credits)
This course provides an exploration of counselor characteristics and behaviors that influence the counseling process. Students will explore various counseling methodologies, techniques, and strategies useful in the change process when working with an individual, marital, couple, and/or family. Students will study specific techniques for effective risk assessment and crisis/trauma intervention.
